Exterior Design/Release Engineer

About the role

My client is an innovative American automotive manufacturer focused on redefining affordable electric mobility. They are developing a new generation of purpose-built electric vehicles with an emphasis on simplicity, modular design, and customer customisation. They are looking for an Exterior Design/Release Engineer to join their expanding team on a Contract basis. The role will be based in Troy, Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of the exterior components and related structures across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 8+ years of vehicle design experience in the areas of interior and/or exterior trim.
• Knowledge of design considerations required for plastic/composite components.
• Excellent communication and team building skills.
• Broad knowledge of NHSTA/FMVSS requirements related to exterior components.
• Ability and desire to work in a fun and fast paced environment.
