Extension Program Assistant/Associate-Agriculture
About the role
The Extension Program Assistant/Associate-Agriculture position at NC State Extension provides hands-on, practical education to North Carolina citizens. This role involves assisting horticulture and agriculture agents with programming, conducting school enrichment programs, and managing public garden facilities. Requirements and Preferences
The minimum requirement for employment with NC State Extension is a high-school diploma or equivalent. Advanced training in related fields is preferred. Desired skills include environmental education and/or horticulture/agriculture background, knowledge of creating documents using word processing and spreadsheet programs, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and experience in pond management, irrigation management, agriculture, and agriculture equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma with two years of specialized training and/or education in environmental education, horticulture, or agriculture
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and compliance with Onslow County insurance regulations

Pay
$32,562 commensurate with experience.
Schedule
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with flexibility, occasionally working after hours or weekends as necessary.
