Extension Agent, 4-H Youth Development, Unicoi County, UT Extension: UTIA

About the role

The Extension Agent, 4-H Youth Development position in Unicoi County is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating educational programs related to 4-H Youth Development. The agent also implements, evaluates, and reports on these programs, ensuring they meet the needs of all eligible clientele.

Responsibilities

• Plans, executes, and evaluates 4-H Youth Development educational programs.
• Implements, evaluates, and reports 4-H Youth Development Programs related to organization, leadership, recognition, sponsorship, etc.
• Serves as an educational resource for educational youth programs within the county.
• Secures and trains volunteer leaders.
• Assumes responsibility for all youth projects, activities, shows, events, and committees.
• Provides leadership for a program of activities that meets the needs of all eligible clientele regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, religion, or veteran status.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications (External Applicants): Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Family and Consumer Sciences or a field related to Education and/or youth development is required. Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 point scale, or a minimum of 3.0 during senior year of undergraduate study, or Master’s degree preferred.
• Preference given to applicants with MS Degree and/or work experience in a related field.
• Applicants graduating prior to position start date are welcome to apply.
• A complete application package will include a letter of interest, resume/cv, and official/unofficial transcripts showing degree(s) conferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.
• Internal Applicants: Request for transfer may be approved if applicant has normally been employed with Extension in their current location for 18 months, has a performance rating of satisfactory or above for the previous 18 months, and has appropriate training for the assignment.
