(Extended School Year) Special Education Paraeducator

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students in the reinforcement of reading, math, science or other classroom subjects.
• Implement behavioral plans and/or monitor and enforce appropriate behavior in accordance with instructional lesson plans and student IEPs.
• Provide assistance and support in terms of preparing exercises/drills for students better suited to their learning needs.
• Record tests, copy materials for the classroom, correct papers/tests, update and maintain classroom records, files and supplies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Experience working with children in educational settings.
• Knowledge of child development and learning theories.
• Ability to implement behavioral plans and manage classroom behavior.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
