Extended School Day Program (ESDP) Assistant

Position Duties

• Planning a variety of creative activities for students in the after school program that meet their needs and interests
• S supporting and assisting students as they complete homework assignments
• Providing a warm and nurturing environment conducive to the social and emotional wellbeing of each individual child in your care
• Treating all children respectfully and with dignity
• Ensuring the health and safety of students at all times through close supervision in the classroom and during recess
• Maintaining a positive rapport and good communication with parents of children in your care
• Following required laws, policies, procedures and practices including social services and CHC policies and guidelines
• Handling behavior issues in a fair and equitable manner, and reporting issues as appropriate to the Assistant Head or Head of Lower School
• Monitoring appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities

Education and Experience

• A preffered BA/BS from an accredited college or university in the field of education or child development or similar
• Ideally seeking someone with 3 years of experience in a school or after school setting or other comparable experience working with children
