Monday – Thursday; hours vary by site (typically 2-3 hours after school)

- All assistant instructors (students) must have the ability to follow the lead of the instructor and assist with any tasks associated with the assignment.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to positively engage students with enthusiasm and care.
- Ability to learn to engage in positive behavior management with assigned students.
- Ability to adapt well and respond positively and resiliently to change in the environment and/or job tasks and assignments
- Ability to work well with others and/or with little or no direct supervision
- Takes initiative, thinks critically, and uses deductive reasoning to address problems and issues
Essential Functions
- Create a learning environment where students feel valued and eager to attend.
- Learn to provide differentiated instruction, with mixed-grade classrooms, using existing curriculum materials or developing your own initiatives.
- Record daily attendance if directed.
- Attend all training and meetings as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Site Lead, Instructors, and/or Director of Extended Learning.
Safety
Employee is responsible for taking all steps necessary to protect yourself and others against occupational accidents, injuries, and illnesses. Employees are responsible for ensuring all work performed meets the highest industry standards and is done in compliance with all local, state and federal requirements.
Employee is responsible for knowing the school’s fire, tornado and lockdown procedures.
Education and Experience
Currently enrolled in the Education Pathway within the Academies of Racine.
