Extended Day Child Care Staff-Part Time Seasonal

About the role

The Ocean Community YMCA is seeking part-time, seasonal Extended Day Child Care Staff to support their campers through their before and after camp extended day program. This position offers a great opportunity for those passionate about working with children and creating a safe, welcoming environment.

Schedule

Monday–Friday
- Morning Shift: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- Afternoon Shift: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Part-time, seasonal

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of campers before and after camp
• Engage children in fun, age-appropriate recreational activities
• Create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every camper feels they belong
• Maintain accurate attendance and follow all camp policies and safety procedures
• Communicate effectively with staff and leadership to support daily operations

Requirements

• Experience working with children preferred
• Positive, patient, and team-oriented mindset
• Strong communication and decision-making skills
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification-YMCA will train
• Commitment to YMCA values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
