Extended Day Assistant, 2025-26

About the role

The Extended Day Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the educational mission of Blessed Trinity Catholic School. This position is part-time and non-exempt, with flexible hours from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on weekdays, and additional hours available during early dismissals.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and support the unique Catholic Mission of the School by aligning with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
• Absorb and adhere to Catholic principles in both professional and personal life, ensuring alignment with Catholic moral strictures.
• Participate in and assist with planning school religious and service activities to foster a strong faith community.
• Assist with supervision of parent helpers and ensure compliance with school safety guidelines.
• Supervise playground activities as needed.
• Communicate effectively with students, organize classroom materials, and facilitate learning through organized field trips.
• Implement a consistent disciplinary approach that encourages self-direction and positive self-image, thereby motivating learning.
• Maintain a functional and pleasant learning environment at all times.
• Demonstrate professional responsibility and sound judgment in all tasks assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Fingerprint clearance and completion of Protecting God's Children class are mandatory.
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Outstanding human relations and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and organized, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexible in adapting to various needs and strategies in a school setting.
• Ability to pass a criminal history and background check.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.
