Description
Kindred Hospital Dayton and Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) is a 97-bed hospital with 51 long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) beds, offering specialized care for adults aged 18+ and geriatric patients. The 46-bed behavioral health unit provides 24-hour supervised psychiatric treatment and crisis support for mental health issues, collaborating with patients' physicians and offering continuous 24-hour clinical care.
Job Summary
As an Expressive Therapist, you will provide direct clinical services to child, adolescent, and adult patients using art and other expressive therapies to address interpersonal issues causing emotional distress.
Essential Functions
- Provide art therapy, music therapy, and dance/movement therapy, utilizing certifications for specific group types.
- Utilize other modalities such as play therapy, EMDR, and trauma-informed interventions as clinically appropriate.
- Plan and implement group sessions for each population.
- Plan and implement individual sessions.
- Document group sessions and individual sessions.
- Complete Activity Therapy assessments.
- Plan and assist with programming outside of normal group hours for special events.
- Maintain and order appropriate materials and supplies for interventions.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s Degree in Art, Music, or Dance/Movement Therapy from an accredited school.
- Licenses/Certifications: Certification or registry appropriate to the discipline of study, such as the American Art Therapy Association (AATA); independent practice scope licensure as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW is desired; CPR and CPI.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience.
Pay Range
$27.77-$41.26/hr.
