Express Care (APP)

About the role

UP Health System - Portage invites Board Certified Advanced Practice Providers to join our Express Care team in Hancock, MI. This position is available at two Express Care/Walk-In Clinic locations: Houghton and Calumet. Open hours are 9a-6p seven days a week (9a-2p holidays), with 6 to 10 hour shifts every 14 days, offering the opportunity for additional shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to patients in outpatient settings.
• Perform waived tests including Covid antigen testing, Covid swabbing for PCR, strep, RSV, Influenza A&B, urine dips, and urine hCG.
• Suture simple wounds.
• Offer vaccines: Tetanus & Influenza.
• Provide occupational health services.
• Offer x-ray services.
• Collaborate with UP Health System Fitness Center and Physical Therapy and Rehab.
• Offer FQHC services.

Requirements

• Board Certification as an NP or PA.
• Experience in outpatient care.
• Knowledge of clinic EMR: Athena.
• Ability to perform basic administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited program in nursing or physician assistant.
• Current license to practice as an NP or PA in the state of Michigan.
• Experience in outpatient care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.

• Proficiency in using clinic EMR: Athena.

Compensation details are competitive and based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Shifts are 6 to 10 hours every 14 days, with the option for additional shifts.
