About the role

Maximize departmental productivity by setting clear goals and objectives, and oversee overall department operations through management planning. Manage departmental operations and financial activities. Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve operational quality and efficiency. Supervise subordinates in accordance with company policies and procedures. Responsible for employee recruitment, training, and coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with customs-related laws and regulations, and provide education and guidance to the team.
  • Monitor team performance against company standards and departmental goals, and conduct regular audits of shipping documents and accounting processes.
  • Monitor problematic cases and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Provide operational instructions to team members to ensure timely and smooth processing of operational files, including release, billing, and audits.
  • Identify staff training needs, develop, and promote training objectives.
  • Hold regular departmental meetings to communicate goals and expectations.
  • Follow up daily on documentation discrepancies and variances, and resolve issues through effective oral and written communication with customers and overseas offices.
  • Escalate unresolved issues or risks that may significantly impact KLL UK before they become critical.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments and locations to provide high-quality customer service.
  • Manage departmental operations and financial activities, including staffing, budget management, and achievement of financial goals.
  • Create, review, and approve customer quotations and price proposals to ensure profitability and market competitiveness.
  • Develop and implement systems and procedures to enhance operational quality and efficiency.
  • Build an optimal organizational structure to achieve excellent customer service and employee satisfaction.
  • Analyze and document business processes and challenges, and develop improvement measures to enhance efficiency.
  • Coordinate and implement improvement measures based on process analysis and departmental projects to achieve productivity and quality goals.
  • Guide the preparation, analysis, and reporting of performance management reports for subordinates and contractors.
  • Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct recruitment interviews and onboard new staff.
  • Provide coaching and career development advice, set individual goals, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Manage staffing, including task assignments, training, leave management, and backup arrangements during absences.
  • Assist in resolving complex or non-standard operational issues.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, managers, and headquarters on departmental operations, and plan and conduct departmental meetings.
  • Approve departmental expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Practical experience in customs declaration (Customs Entry).
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Strong team-building abilities and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High reliability and ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Basic English reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Knowledge of office processes, procedures, and IT tools, with experience in team management.
  • Ability to read and interpret accounting and financial reports.
