Leading Freight Forwarder / NVOCC / Customs House Broker / Tank Container Operator with locations in 24 countries and over 3,300 employees is seeking a highly motivated and organized Export Coordinator for our Jersey City office.
About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to manage and coordinate international export shipments for a portfolio of clients. This role ensures the timely and compliant movement of cargo by preparing export documentation, coordinating transportation providers, monitoring shipment activity, and delivering exceptional customer service throughout the export process.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end export shipments for assigned customer accounts.
- Prepare and process export documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, insurance certificates, export declarations, and other regulatory documents.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and international shipping regulations, including AES filings and government agency requirements.
- Coordinate with carriers, trucking companies, warehouses, overseas agents, and customers to facilitate efficient shipment movement.
- Provide proactive shipment updates and resolve customer inquiries in a timely manner.
- Negotiate transportation and logistics rates with service providers.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and tracking data within internal systems.
- Identify potential shipping issues and recommend solutions to customers.
- Support company quality, security, and compliance initiatives, including ISO and C-TPAT standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in international freight forwarding, export operations, or logistics, with a strong understanding of export documentation and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with AES filings, export compliance, and international shipping procedures.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Pay
Salary range: $50,000 to $60,000
