Export Control Attorney
About the role
The PositionA well-known global technology company is seeking an experienced Export Control Attorney to join its legal team on a high-impact project. This is a highly collaborative role where you'll work closely with cross-functional business partners to provide practical guidance on export controls and international trade compliance as new products move through development and into global markets.
Responsibilities
- Advising on U.S. export controls, particularly the EAR
- Counseling engineering, product, or supply chain stakeholders on complex trade compliance issues
- Navigating classification and licensing questions
- Assessing regulatory risk
- Translating technical concepts into practical legal advice
- Supporting hardware products
- Exposure to advanced technologies or global regulatory frameworks is a plus
Requirements
- Strong background advising on U.S. export controls, particularly the EAR
- Experience counseling engineering, product, or supply chain stakeholders on complex trade compliance issues
- Comfortable navigating classification and licensing questions
- Ability to assess regulatory risk
- Ability to translate technical concepts into practical legal advice
- Experience supporting hardware products
- Exposure to advanced technologies or global regulatory frameworks is a plus
Qualifications
- Law degree from an accredited law school
- Juris Doctor (JD) required
- Admitted to practice law in at least one state
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in export control law
- Experience in advising on U.S. export controls, particularly the EAR
- Experience counseling engineering, product, or supply chain stakeholders on complex trade compliance issues
- Experience navigating classification and licensing questions
- Experience assessing regulatory risk
- Experience translating technical concepts into practical legal advice
- Experience supporting hardware products
- Exposure to advanced technologies or global regulatory frameworks is a plus
