Exploring Ag Agronomy Intern - Northern, WI

About the Role

Insight FS, part of the GROWMARK System, is seeking an Agronomy Operations Intern to gain hands-on experience in agronomy field and operations. This role is headquartered in Jefferson, Wisconsin, with opportunities to work across 23 branches in Wisconsin and the upper peninsula of Michigan. The intern will train and assist with general agronomy functions, preparing for a future career in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
• Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
• Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment and technology for scouting.
• Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
• Gain understanding and experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
• Follow GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct, Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a degree or certification from a community college, technical college, or university and in good academic standing at the time the internship begins.
• Ability to obtain a CDL and commercial applicator’s license with required endorsements.
• Satisfactory driving record and valid medical card.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Essential abilities including communication, customer focus, decision-making, and skill development.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary.
• Ability to frequently lift 51-70 pounds and work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wet, etc.), as well as at various heights or elevated platforms.
• Willingness to participate in required training, including education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures.
