Explorers Educator (Part-time)

Job Details

Time Frame: late August through April

Work day: 9 AM – 1:30 PM Tuesday through Friday

Pay: Educators are compensated at a rate of $18/hour

Hours: approximately 18 hours/week

About the role

The Program Explorers is an experiential education program that partners with 3rd - 5th grade classrooms in the Richmond Public Schools (RPS) and Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS) districts.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead team-building activities to help students recognize resilience skills
• Correlate experiential lessons with Virginia Standards of Learning
• Incorporate nature exploration into field trips

Qualifications

• Passion for quality education and positive youth development
• Experience working with children in a classroom setting
• Outdoor education background or willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
