About the role

The focus of the position is on the development and enhancement of Praim’s Windows-based products, including Windows-compatible software (agents/clients) and Windows-customized OEM images. The candidate will lead the Windows team within Praim’s Research and Development (R&D) department.

Praim products—such as the Agile client/agent software—are deployed on thousands of devices, enabling remote and centralized control of Windows-based endpoints. These products integrate tightly with VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) and cloud applications. Additionally, Praim customizes and deploys its own Windows IoT firmware images for Thin Client hardware.

The role involves ensuring the engineering quality of Praim’s software solutions for critical applications, providing architectural expertise, and sharing best practices for Windows solutions. The candidate will collaborate closely with other product teams to align development activities across products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Windows team in developing and enhancing Windows-compatible software and OEM images.
  • Ensure the engineering quality and performance of Praim’s software solutions.
  • Provide architectural expertise and best practices for Windows-based solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement and training on Microsoft technologies to adopt state-of-the-art solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate development activities with other products.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Windows OS architecture, configuration, and customization.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and development methodologies.

Requirements

  • Extensive and proven experience in Windows software development and OS customization.
  • Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals (degree in Computer Science or related field).
  • Mastery of Windows programming languages, including .NET, C#, and JavaScript.
  • Proficiency in additional languages such as C++, Python, or frameworks like Node.js.
  • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash).
  • Familiarity with desktop virtualization (Microsoft RDP, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop, VMware Horizon).
  • Deep understanding of Windows OS components (filesystem, network stack, registry, firewall, memory management, CPU scheduling).
  • Knowledge of ICT architecture components (DHCP, DNS, networking).
  • Experience with cloud/server environments (Proxmox, Azure, AWS).
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git, SVN) and collaboration tools (Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Experience with IoT and hardware support (e.g., driver deployment) is highly beneficial.
  • Strong organizational, team-building, and collaborative skills.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, ICT, or related field (PhD preferred).
  • Passion for the Microsoft ecosystem, operating systems, and hardware support.
  • Experience in software development processes and best practices.
  • Exposure to diverse technologies and processing environments.
