Expert Transition Manager – Solution Architecture & Governance

About the role

Our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, is seeking a leader to guide their IT architecture team through a strategic organizational transition. This role focuses on merging architecture and product teams while ensuring delivery excellence and operational stability within a modern digital landscape.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transition and merger of the Architecture and Product teams into a unified target operating model.
• Define and implement governance frameworks, clarifying roles and interfaces between architecture, product, and delivery teams.
• Manage the solution architecture workforce across various digital initiatives, including resource assignment and portfolio monitoring.
• Drive the transition plan to ensure continuity and the rapid realization of organizational objectives.
• Establish standardized deliverables and quality controls to maintain high architectural standards across the team.
• Facilitate team cohesion and collaboration to ensure the merged organization becomes effective and self-sustaining.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in transition management and complex project management.
• In-depth knowledge of IT processes and methodologies including ITIL, TOGAF, ArchiMate, and Domain Driven Design.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture patterns.
• Practical experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with Gartner Architecture Frameworks such as TIME for Application Portfolio Management.
• Proficiency with modeling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• You are proactive and take initiative for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
• You possess strong collaboration skills and excellent presentation capabilities.
• You are result-oriented and capable of working autonomously.
• You are fluent in English with a good level of Dutch and/or French.

Nice to have

• Experience in the Energy & Utilities sector.
• Previous experience managing organizational transformations during company mergers.
• Experience architecting and designing IT products within Agile environments.
