Expert Designer, Speed Footwear Product Design

Who You’ll Work With You’ll be working with a fast-moving multidisciplinary team of experienced Footwear designers, Computational designers, and Innovation designers. focused on industry-leading innovative footwear. This team reports directly to the VP of Footwear Design Excellence. Who We Are Looking For We are looking for a passionate footwear designer who is highly creative, has a strong aesthetic, is a problem solver, has a deep knowledge of Performance and Lifestyle footwear, and is fluent in 3D and AI digital tools. This team collaborates with a wide range of Nike teams, so a positive outlook and strong relationships are essential. What You Bring Design Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in industrial design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training8 yrs experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other productsKnowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experienceAbility to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narrativesStrong Photoshop, Illustrator skillsStrong sketching, illustration, visualization and rendering skillsStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes and materialsMust be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each projectKnowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing are a plusExperienced with presentation programs: Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.Fluent in 3D tools like Blender, Gravity Sketch, Fusion 360 or RhinoFluent in AI tools like Vizcom, Blender, Runway or Sora Fluent in tools like Illustrator, Photoshop and Keynote3D printing and prototyping skills are a plus Team Requirements Positive attitude and energyCuriosity and flexibility to find, learn and share new tools and skillsCatalyst to make connections with other Design groupsMotivated and passionate about bringing others alongTeam player, and selfless leaderSpeaks up with courage for self and the teamOpen minded, good listener, receptive to candid feedback and diverse points of view What You’ll Work On You’ll work on a wide range of footwear projects covering all categories of performance, lifestyle and innovation, this will also span “high-volume” projects to “one-off” inspirational concepts. You will lead projects from sketch ideation, concept visualization, presentation through to tech pack and revisions. You will also be working directly with our internal and external partners to test, evaluate and recommend new digital design tools. You will also need to mentor other designers across Nike on our new and innovative process.
