About the Role

We’re looking for an Expert Designer in Golf Footwear Design, a role deeply focused on craft, problem solving, and design execution. You will help create the future look of Nike Golf Footwear, delivering athlete-right, industry-leading solutions. You’ll collaborate with a cross-functional project team including engineering, product management, marketing, merchandising, testing, product development, and costing, as well as within the broader design community (industrial designers, materials, color, graphics, 3D). You’ll partner with category team members in design, development, and product management to ensure design feasibility, meet price points, address merchandising needs, and adhere to product creation timelines. Working under the direction of the Golf Sr. Creative Director, you will present design concepts to various audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the future of Nike Golf Footwear by crafting new standards of fit, form, and construction at the intersection of performance, innovation, and style.
  • Build innovative, athlete-insight-informed footwear designs that advance product performance and aesthetic for the Golf consumer.
  • Actively seek authoritative recommendations to develop designs with regard to testing, manufacturability, sustainability, and aesthetic finish.
  • Create technical drawings of designs to communicate with factories.
  • Generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure feasibility, cost, and timeline alignment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in product design or related field (or any suitable combination of education, experience, and training).
  • 8+ years of experience designing and developing innovative footwear products.
  • Previous footwear design experience required.
  • Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator; 3D design program experience a plus.
  • Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Ability to work by sketching, cobbling, and using 3D tools to bring ideas to life.
  • Future-thinking mindset with curiosity to seek and solve problems for Golf athletes.

Skills

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, plastics, and engineering materials.
  • Engagement with athletes and external partners.
  • Cobbling and prototyping skills (a plus).
