About the role
The Automated Tester supports the test of access control systems for a government customer, ensuring secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of IT systems. This role involves defining, documenting, analyzing, performing, and interpreting tests for various aspects of the system.
Responsibilities
- Work with design engineers, production personnel, customers, and other stakeholders to identify and develop verification methods for system, subsystem, and component level requirements.
- Investigate problems referred by customer support.
- Plan, manage, and track project test efforts.
- Evaluate and develop detailed test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Oversee and perform testing in a DevOps environment.
- Support testing after each deployment.
- Work with automated testing techniques, including Junit.
- Oversee and perform test reporting.
- Interact directly with customers, teammates, and functional peer groups.
- Communicate with internal team members across multiple areas and client team members.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience with test automation methodologies such as Selenium or Katalon.
- Understanding and experience in the complete life-cycle of software systems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong, effective, and professional communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience working within matrixed teams.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work without close supervision.
- Ability to take initiative in troubleshooting; creative in determining approach or action to take in non-routine situations.
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Sciences.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience with database migration tools such as Flyway.
- Experience supporting COTS platforms.
- Experience working with / handling Highly Sensitive Data.
- Experience conducting unit testing of software modifications.
- Experience with SecDevOps.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Skills
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in test automation tools like Selenium or Katalon.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of AWS and related cloud technologies.
