About the role

We are seeking an experimental physicist with strong laboratory experience in atomic, optical, or quantum systems. You will play a key role in building and operating cutting-edge experimental platforms for qubit control, measurement, and scaling.

The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, creative problem-solving, and collaborating across disciplines to make new quantum technologies a reality.

Responsibilities

  • Design, construct, and characterize precision optical and/or cryogenic systems for quantum experiments.
  • Understand and implement protocols for qubit preparation, control, and readout.
  • Integrate control electronics, laser or rf and microwave systems, and data acquisition.
  • Analyze experimental results and optimize system performance.
  • Cross-team collaboration to guide system design and development.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience working with advanced laboratory instrumentation and quantum systems including AMO physics, solid-state and/or superconducting systems.
  • Familiarity with qubit control, spectroscopy, or precision measurement techniques.
  • Strong background in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific problem solving.
  • Experience with Python or similar tools for experiment automation.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
