Experimental postdoc position in development and fabrication of dissipatively-stabilized superconducting qubits
About the role
NQCP is seeking an experimental postdoc to lead the development of dissipatively corrected bosonic qubits in superconducting circuit devices. The goal is to harness dissipation as a resource for quantum error correction. Key responsibilities include fabricating high-impedance resonators, characterizing cryogenic devices, and collaborating with theorists.
Responsibilities
- Design and realize high-impedance superconducting resonators.
- Cryogenic characterization and bring-up of devices.
- Collaborate with theoretical colleagues to refine practical designs and architectures.
- Maintain and develop clean-room nanofabrication processes within the SQuID Lab.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have:
- A PhD in Physics or a related field.
- Experience in quantum computing.
- Experience with cleanroom nanofabrication and superconducting circuit devices.
- Experience with ultra-high-impedance superconducting resonators.
- Familiarity with bosonic qubit encodings.
- An interest in interdisciplinary projects and collaborations.
- Experience working with theoretical colleagues.
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics or related discipline.
- Experience in quantum computing.
- Experience with cleanroom nanofabrication and design of superconducting circuit devices.
- Experience with ultra-high-impedance superconducting resonators.

Pay
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff and is paid according to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
Schedule
The position is limited for a period of two years, starting from October 1st, 2026 or by arrangement.
