About the role
Animal Hospital of Regency Park is growing and is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to support Dr. Aileen Simpson and our patients. The hospital offers compassionate, community-focused care combined with advanced diagnostic capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures.
- Prepare for and assist with surgical and dental procedures.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Safely handle and restrain animals.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments.
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples.
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records.
- Educate clients on medications, treatments, preventive care, and at-home instructions.
- Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Experience working as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant.
- Experience assisting with surgical and dental procedures is strongly preferred.
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills.
- Knowledge of veterinary clinical procedures and patient care.
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Veterinary Technician Certification or licensure as a CVT, RVT, or LVT is preferred but not required.
- Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program is preferred but not required.
- Comfortable learning and working with advanced diagnostic equipment and services.
