Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
- Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including preparing individual and business returns
- Experience working in a client facing, consultative, or advisory role
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language
- High school diploma / GED / equivalent required
- Must complete continuing education and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, bookkeeping
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA), or other IRS Circular 230 credential
- Experience completing complex returns, tax planning, audit support, or tax notice resolution
- Familiarity with GoSystem or Ultratax software
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT)
- Experience in a consultative or advisory client relationship role (financial advising, insurance, or professional services)
Pay
The pay range for this position is $15.16 - $80.00/Hr. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
