Experienced Software Engineer – DevSecOps

About the Role

The Boeing Company is seeking an Experienced Software Engineer to join the Flight Simulation Labs team in Daytona Beach, FL, supporting the F18 Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler Modeling & Simulation teams within Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS). This role is 100% onsite at our state-of-the-art facility in Daytona Beach, FL, a location with no state income tax and other desirable benefits.

Responsibilities

• Automation and tooling for installation and configuration of Windows and Linux software components
• Establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in an Agile software development environment
• Embedding automated security and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines
• Maintaining artifact repository environments
• Automating build, deployment, and environment provisioning tasks
• Developing and maintaining accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
• Developing and generating reports on system performance, security, and compliance
• Participating in planning and implementing new systems, upgrades, and migrations to ensure compatibility and adherence to best practices
• Supporting and guiding software developers in using DevSecOps tools and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD, deploying to cloud environments
• 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, ARM templates)
• 3+ years of scripting experience in Python, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, and/or Node.js
• Experience with cloud containerization

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (preferred)
• Experience developing in C++ (preferred)
• Experience with automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Salt, Jenkins, GitLab) (preferred)
• Experience with Kubernetes (e.g., EKS, AKS) (preferred)
• Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other Agile Methodologies (preferred)
• Knowledge of Windows/Linux server administration and infrastructure components (preferred)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) (preferred)
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, etc. (preferred)

Pay

Summary pay range for Experienced: $88,000.00 - $155,000.00. Pay is based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
