About the role
Peterbilt – Davenport is a family-owned full service truck dealership in Davenport, IA, serving eastern Iowa since 1973. We are seeking an experienced Service Writer/Advisor to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Greet and understand customer concerns, coordinating seamlessly with the service department to ensure an exceptional experience.
- Open and close work orders, recording and adjusting mechanics' time for work orders and payroll.
- Cover phone calls for the Service Department, resolving customer complaints, and scheduling appointments.
- Consult with the parts department on special order parts and sublet repairs, and instruct the following shift's service writer on any special instructions and appointments.
- Keep the Service Manager informed of all customer complaints and technician problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills.
- General computer knowledge.
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- A college degree or a certificate/degree from a trade school is preferred but not required.
