Job Summary

Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General where we have been providing world-class care to the community for over 100 years. As an Experienced RN in the Operating Room, you will deliver exceptional care, interact directly with patients and their families, and provide healthcare education as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey
• Interact directly with patients and their families
• Enhance patient experience
• Scrub and circulate through each service line during a 6-month orientation period
• Gain proficiency on specialty call teams
• Assist in collecting and preparing equipment, instruments, sutures and implants
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team
• Act as a patient advocate
• Identify patients and confirm surgical site identification without discrepancy
• Timely respond to on-call pages
• Maintain the room schedule and ensure surgical specimens are handled correctly by accurate identification
• Successfully complete mandatory clinical competencies annually

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Scrub experience
• Two years of Operating Room experience
