Experienced RN - Nurse Educator - Pediatric Surgery

About the role

The Pediatric Surgery Department at Oklahoma Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator to support the Operating Room team. This role offers a competitive total rewards package, including a sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Aligns behaviors with OU Health values and maintains nursing professional practice standards.
• Plans, implements, evaluates and documents staff development and in-service.
• Develops criteria to evaluate needs of the staff and measure the effectiveness of training programs.
• Captures and coordinates competency development, verification and maintenance activities.
• Coordinates and facilitates quality improvement activities and assesses the implementation of age and culturally appropriate care programs.
• Plans, implements and evaluates Preceptor Program.
• Coordinates CPR training that meets the American Heart Association requirements and is in compliance with TJC standards.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse License (RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact Registered Nurse (eNLC)).
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• Experience: 3 years of experience in patient care as a Registered Nurse.

• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
• Ability to maintain civility and good working relationships with other employees.
• Skilled in computer applications designed to ensure quality and safety measures for patients.

• Ability to engage and manage conflicts and disagreements in a constructive manner.
