Experienced Project Engineer
Job Description
The Enterprise Systems Development (ESD) unit in the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the Facility Information Management System (FIMS) reporting across all 4 DOE sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Cook up and lead processes for FIMS reporting, making sure data and system outputs comply with program and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with data owners and technical staff to enhance data quality, reporting workflows, and speed of facility-related information.
- Do data analysis, sample, inspect physical conditions, and validate, to ensure reporting accuracy.
- Contribute to the creation and release of real property metrics like asset condition metrics, Real Property Planning Estimate metrics, and other business analytics, as needed.
Project Management Support
- Provide backup and surge support for project management activities across the ESD unit, including project planning, tracking, and reporting for other enterprise systems projects.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of project management practices, tools, and templates.
- Monitor and report project status, risks, issues, and resource needs to leadership.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science, or construction field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or Currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of or exposure to facilities management, asset management, or operations environments, including an understanding of related data and reporting needs.
- Experience supporting or coordinating regulatory or programmatic reporting (FIMS or similar reporting requirements is a plus).
- Experience leading process improvement efforts involving multiple cross-functional groups.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to integrate a team of site leads.
- Strong skills in: Project planning, scheduling, and dependency management. Risk, issue, and change management. Stakeholder engagement and communication at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to: Work effectively in a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team environment. Manage competing priorities and adapt to evolving requirements. Write and issue formal submittals to senior management and/or the Government with a high level of detail and professionalism.

Pay Range
$86,100.00 - $134,600.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
