Experienced Professional Security Flex Officer

This position involves filling call-offs, covering requested days off, vacation requests, and extra coverage for special assignments. The role is primarily 2nd shift (2 PM - 10 PM) and/or 3rd shift (10 PM - 6 AM), including all weekends and most holidays. The position can be up to 75% to 80% outside in all weather conditions (except lightning, hail, and tornado) and involves 75% to 80% standing or walking.
Responsibilities
- Conflict resolution and de-escalation
- Frequent interactions with client employees and guests
- Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or suspicious activity
- Ensure all post orders are followed and assigned rounds are completed
- Provide customer service and information to clients’ employees and guests
- Utilize technology devices throughout the shift
- Conduct tours of the property
- Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for the assigned site
- Walk on uneven terrain and up/down flights of stairs and/or ladders
- Respond to emergencies with rapid and effective judgment, using appropriate escalation
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in security or a related field
- Must be at least 18 years of age to qualify for an Illinois PERC Security Officer License
- High School Diploma, GED, or willingness to complete a GED program
- Average computer skills; above-average skills are a plus
- Excellent customer service and team leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and remain calm during stressful situations
- Great attention to detail and ability to remain vigilant throughout the shift
- Professional demeanor
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record (this is a driving position)
- Reliable transportation (public transportation is not available at most work sites)
- Reliable working communication device (cell phone)
- Legal right to work in the United States
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Must be available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during hours of 1:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and all holidays
- Willingness to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen (mouth swab and/or urinalysis, including THC testing) and background investigation

Pay
Wage range: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour.
Schedule
- Majority of shifts are 2nd shift (2 PM - 10 PM) and/or 3rd shift (10 PM - 6 AM)
- All weekends and most holidays required
- Monday to Friday and/or day shift positions are not available
