Experienced Nursery & Greenhouse General Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily nursery and greenhouse operations, ensuring a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales area.
• Hire associates, production and greenhouse labor, sales teams, and office support.
• Lead, train, and motivate sales associates to provide outstanding customer service.
• Receive, inspect, display, water, and maintain healthy, high-quality plant inventory.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking with distribution teams.
• Ensure proper plant care, merchandising, pricing, and signage according to company standards.
• Maintain logs, labor reports, pesticide applications, plug grade sheets, disease logs, and testing.
• Communicate regularly with district management regarding inventory needs, staffing, and operational updates.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

Key Qualifications

• 5+ years' greenhouse, nursery, or garden center managerial experience.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related horticulture and/or business field.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of rules, regulations, and guidelines of various federal or state Dept. of Agriculture.
• Ability to make sound decisions and exercise judgement and discretion in applying and interpreting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to coach and train a sales team in building strong relationships with retail partners.
• Comfortable working outside in varying weather conditions.
• Able to work with little or no supervision.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and perform frequent bending, walking, and standing.
• Must be willing to travel and relocate if necessary.
• Must currently reside in the U.S. and have a valid U.S. driving license.
