Experienced Manager, Management Consulting
Job Summary
The Management Consulting Experienced Manager supports projects in Strategy & 80/20, Back Office & Finance Transformation, Site Selection, M&A and Post-Merger Integration, and Supply Chain. This role involves acting as a primary client contact, providing exceptional client service, developing deliverables, managing budgets, and fostering strategic relationships.
Job Duties
- Acts as primary contact for clients on strategic transformations, addressing questions and issues.
- Provides exceptional client service and develops advanced level deliverables and solutions to client issues.
- Establishes engagement budget, recommends project scope and pricing changes, as needed.
- Manages the engagement and underlying economics to ensure engagement metrics are achieved.
- Identifies and grows strategic relationships with client personnel, including members of client management.
- Manages day-to-day workload of MC Senior Associates and Associates on assigned engagements, reviews work product, trains on relevant software, evaluates performance, and delivers performance feedback.
- Administers strategic project plans, manages tasks, coordinates meeting follow-up, and provides regular status updates.
- Fosters a positive demeanor, learning attitude, and client service mentality with staff and seniors.
- Able to travel 25% to possibly up to 50% of the time, as needed.
- Supervises MC Senior Associates and Associates on assigned engagements, manages workload, reviews work product, trains on relevant software, evaluates performance, and delivers performance feedback.
- Participates in strategy, marketing, and business development activities within practice.
- Drafts reports and completes research, when needed.
- Coordinates meetings with the management team and the project team.
- Manages internal projects to drive to completion.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree, required; focus in Finance, Business Administration, or Technology, preferred.
- Six (6) or more years of experience with internal or external strategy and planning project management, including gap analysis of long- and short-term goals.
- Four (4) or more years of professional experience within strategic transformation, with a proven ability to translate strategy into action that drives clear and measurable outcomes.
- Strong strategic analytical, facilitation, documentation, and communication skills.
- Expert-level ability in managing and driving execution on all aspects of multiple projects at one time, especially those complex in nature.
- Strong cross-functional business acumen, project planning, scoping, and management skills.
- Client-facing consulting experience or management advisory, preferably in the manufacturing and distribution industry.
- PMI, PMP, or Change Management certification, preferred.
