About the role

Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company providing analytical testing services to ensure the safety, health, and sustainability of products and the environment. As an Analyst, you will perform analysis of bulk samples for asbestos using polarized light microscopy. Analysis of non-culturable surface and air samples for fungi is a plus but not required. You will validate and review data for accuracy, upload laboratory data into the LIMS, and report to clients. The role involves scheduling sample workload according to due dates and sample hold times, and operating job-specific laboratory testing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze aerobiological, environmental, and water samples for fungal, asbestos, and bacteria analysis.
  • Accurately enter and report analytical data using the LIMS.
  • Perform independent data reviews for other analysts’ work.
  • Analyze reference materials, proficiency samples, and other quality control samples as needed.
  • Perform confirmation of lab results as needed by client services personnel.
  • Complete all analytical testing QA-related tasks as required.
  • Assist in pursuing, receiving, and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations.
  • Maintain and update all necessary training and QA documents onsite.
  • Coordinate and manage projects according to rush status and due time for timely delivery.
  • Follow company policies and procedures and ensure coworkers do the same.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Geology, or a closely related science.
  • 1-2 years of laboratory work experience involving mold and/or asbestos microscopy analysis.
  • 8 units of Microbiology courses.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
  • Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 1st shift. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Fort Lauderdale, FL are encouraged to apply.
