Experienced Integration Software Engineer

The Enterprise Business Technology Office (BTO) at Freddie Mac enables business operational excellence through the flexible use of technology. The team supports the needs of enterprise groups, including the chief administrative office, compliance, enterprise risk management, finance, human resources, diversity and outreach, internal audit and legal. In addition to championing and empowering business partners, Enterprise BTO improves efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced team responsible for providing IT development support across various organizations in Freddie Mac. The Senior Developer will assist the line manager/technical lead in day-to-day operations, provide application development support, and guide/mentor other team members.
Your Impact
- Develop software solutions by studying organizational needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
- Follow established methodology and controls guidelines.
- Maintain agility and quality throughout the development process.
- Document technical design, interface specifications, and unit testing.
- Participate in technical discussions and provide recommendations or solutions.
- Demonstrate ownership of problems, issues, or requests from start to finish and facilitate appropriate handoffs.
- Ensure that “Best Practices” for development activities (e.g., code reviews, unit testing) are followed through the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Provide application development support across multiple organizations.
- Guide and mentor junior team members.
- Assist in day-to-day operations under the direction of the line manager/technical lead.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 5+ years of Java experience in developing applications using Java/J2EE technologies, preferably in a Unix environment.
- Excellent understanding of typical multi-tier architectures: web servers, caching, application servers, and load balancers.
- Hands-on experience with multiple technologies, including:
- Java/J2EE & middleware (WebLogic, Apache, Spring Boot, etc.) technologies in a UNIX environment.
- Scripting languages such as UNIX Shell.
- Build automation/CICD pipeline integration tools (Jenkins, GIT, Bitbucket, Artifactory, etc.).
- Relational databases (Sybase, DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
- Information and application security, including LDAP, certificates, public key encryption, SSH, and access credentials.
- Experience developing/maintaining applications using C/C++ technologies in a Unix environment is a plus.

Pay
This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $116,000 - $174,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity, and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
