Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role
Operate excavators, bulldozers, loaders, trenchers, and backhoes for underground utility projects. Follow project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise and accurate work. Coordinate with foremen, project managers, and crew members to meet deadlines while maintaining strict adherence to safety procedures and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and backhoes to excavate, grade, and compact earth within specified parameters
- Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow safety protocols and regulations
- Work with the construction team to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
- Maintain a clean and organized work site
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and job site personnel
Requirements
- Proven 4 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator operating excavators, skid steer loaders, backhoes, dozers, and other earthmoving equipment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and safety consciousness
- No criminal misdemeanors in the last 5 years or criminal felonies in the last 7 years
- Willingness to travel from time to time if the project requires
