Responsibilities

• Inspect, install, and repair Wet, Dry, Pre-action, Deluge, and Foam fire sprinkler systems.
• Test, rebuild, or replace Backflow Preventers.
• Identify trouble areas and perform service to ensure sprinkler systems operate properly.
• Receive, distribute, lay out, and install all materials related to fire sprinkler systems per engineered drawings and job specifications.
• Work with various system types, including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, standpipe, and hose systems.
• Handle piping materials such as steel (schedule 40, 10, 7, XL), CPVC, C-900, and/or ductile iron.
• Install valves, devices, and trim for system risers, alarm valves, dry pipe valves, pre-action, and deluge valves, including backflow prevention devices.
• Fabricate, cut, groove, and/or fuse (glue) piping on the job site as necessary.
• Cut and thread pipe to specifications using a power machine.
• Utilize tools required for proper installation, including hand tools, ladders, lifts, drills, saws, and other necessary equipment.
• Assemble and install piping according to NFPA and industry standards.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License.
• 3-5 years of proven experience in sprinkler inspection, installation, and service (highly preferred).
• Fluent in back-flow, wet and dry systems, fire pump, and alarm device terminology.
• NICET I Certification or equivalent within 24 months of hire.
