We’re hiring a full-time Fire Sprinkler and Backflow Inspector to join us in Pocatello, ID, supporting our continued growth in this essential and exciting industry!

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled inspections, testing and maintenance of water-based fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 25, Idaho State Fire Marshal rules and local ordinances.
  • Inspect, test, and certify backflow prevention assemblies; complete and submit all required BAT reports to the State and municipalities.
  • Verify alarm functions, water-flow switches, pressures, piping, valves, sprinkler heads and other components; perform minor repairs and 5-year internal assessments.
  • Accurately document findings in our mobile inspection platform, note any deficiencies, and communicate corrective actions to customers.
  • Travel throughout southeastern Idaho (occasional overnights) while representing State Fire with professionalism and a focus on safety.

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements:
    • 2 + years of fire-sprinkler or backflow inspection experience.
    • IDaho Backflow Assembly Tester (BAT) certification.
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
    • Basic computer/tablet skills and clear written/verbal communication.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • 2 + years of fire-sprinkler or backflow inspection experience.
    • NICET III/IV Water-Based Systems Layout, NFPA Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI-I), or higher.
    • Working knowledge of NFPA 25, OSHA/MSHA safety standards and Idaho life-safety licensing requirements.
    • Current Idaho Fire Sprinkler Inspector or Contractor license or NICET II (Inspection & Testing of Water-Based Systems) with ability to secure the Idaho license upon hire.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 70 lbs. unassisted.
  • Climb ladders, scaffolding and stairs, work in tight spaces and all-weather conditions.
  • Sit, stand, kneel and crouch for extended periods.
