Responsibilities
- Counsel HNW clients on sophisticated wealth transfer, charitable giving, and asset-protection strategies.
- Draft and oversee the implementation of complex irrevocable trusts, gift planning, and tax-efficient structures.
- Collaborate directly with the firm’s partners on business development initiatives and operational strategy.
- Oversee trust and estate administration while fostering a supportive environment for our collaborative team.
- Exercise emotional intelligence (EQ) to manage client anxiety, read a room, and negotiate questions from savvy clients.
Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years in estate planning, tax, and/or business planning, with a deep comfort in complex irrevocable trust work. Board certification or meeting the criteria for board certification in Estate Planning and Probate Law preferred.
- Credentials: J.D. and active Texas Law License. Additional jurisdictions are a plus.
- The "Book": Bring a partial book of business or an established referral network and be ready to scale it with better support.
- Mindset: Self-starter who thrives in a small-firm setting and values transparent, empathetic communication.
