About the role

Electric Boat's Nuclear Test Engineering Department has openings for highly motivated engineers to prepare nuclear test procedures supporting construction, maintenance, and repairs of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plants at Electric Boat and the Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department (NRMD) in Groton, Connecticut.

In this role, you will conduct research of technical manuals, plant diagrams, and local instructions to obtain required information and ensure the safe operation of equipment, procedure flow and workability, and adherence to regulatory requirements and local writing guidelines. You will also coordinate procedure reviews, resolve procedure comments, and approve procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare nuclear test procedures for construction, maintenance, and repairs of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plants.
  • Research technical manuals, plant diagrams, and local instructions to gather required information.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment, procedure flow, workability, and adherence to regulatory requirements and local writing guidelines.
  • Coordinate procedure reviews, resolve comments, and approve procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of post-graduate engineering experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical/Procedure Writing experience.
  • Naval Nuclear Propulsion experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of Adobe Framemaker.
  • Current DOD Secret Clearance.

Skills

  • Computer Skills/Word Processing Software experience.

Physical Qualifications

  • Color Vision.
  • Light Lifting.
