Experienced Dozer Operator

Reading Site Contractors (Pottstown Division), a division of the H&K Group, Inc., is seeking an experienced Dozer Operator for its Pottstown, PA location.

About the role

The ideal candidate is energetic, motivated, experienced, and carries out work safely in a quarry environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
• Perform pre- and post-trip equipment inspections daily and complete inspection sheets
• Operate heavy equipment including bulldozer, excavator with hammer, and other machinery
• Provide excellent customer service to all on-site customers
• Maintain smooth and safe haul roads
• Keep stockpiles properly bermed and maintained
• Ensure product is blended correctly
• Perform routine equipment maintenance such as lubricating and cleaning
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution or one year of related experience and/or training
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Experience operating a bulldozer
• Problem-solving ability
• Ability to pass a fit test and use appropriate PPE as needed
• Ability to meet physical job requirements (movement, lifting, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years of related experience
• Experience in a quarry, heavy civil construction, or other outdoor industrial setting
• MSHA or other relevant safety certification

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, use hands to finger/handle/feel, and reach with hands and arms
• Frequently required to talk or hear
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Specific vision abilities include distance, peripheral, and depth perception

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration
• Frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving parts, and loud noise
