About the role
Diesel Technician A (III) Transdev in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an experienced A-Level Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our diesel-powered assets.
Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on diesel engines.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
- Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- 6 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
- ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
- Mechanic’s Tool Set.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
Physical Requirements
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions - 100% of the job is performed outside.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day).
- Frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday.
- Lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
- Occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to file or equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
- Tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.

Pay
Competitive compensation package of minimum $ 28 – Maximum $ 40.
