Experienced Craftsman – Cabinetry Specialty Department

About the role

This position requires at least 5 years of experience in woodworking, strong time management skills, and the ability to lead small groups. The role involves manufacturing, assembly, and quality control of custom cabinetry while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Follow work procedures, schematics, or verbal/written instructions for assigned tasks
• Perform manufacturing, assembly, and basic testing of products while adhering to Homestead’s procedures and process guidelines
• Maintain consistent daily production output
• Participate in quality control inspections and regularly check parts for accuracy
• Stack, sort, and apply labels/stickers to parts
• Collaborate with team leads, engineers, supervisors, and managers to enhance quality and process efficiency
• Maintain a clean, organized work area
• Assist in other departments as needed

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working with various types of wood, including cutting and shaping (furniture experience is a plus)
• Strong time management skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Proficiency with hand tools and basic machinery (table saw, mitersaw, router, power tools, etc.)
• Ability to adapt to changes in work schedules with flexibility
• Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and follow complex instructions
• Proficient in reading a tape measure
• Experience leading small groups of individuals
• Adherence to good manufacturing principles
• Demonstrated commitment to quality and precision
• A curious mindset and willingness to learn

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently move, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and occasionally move items over 50 lbs. with assistance
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders as necessary
• Frequent use of hands for gripping, clamping, and handling objects
• Ability to squat, kneel, stoop, crouch, pivot, and reach

Pay

$18–20 per hour, based on previous work experience

Schedule

Typically Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (with some overtime required)
