Job Summary

The Experienced Cook – Employee Dining Room supports resort team members by preparing, cooking, and presenting meals in a high-volume environment. This role contributes to the resort's commitment to caring for its associates through quality food service.

Job Specifications

• Onsite: Black Desert Resort
• Shift & Schedule: Year-Round / Full-Time
• Pay Range: $18.00 – $21.00/hour

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present meals: For resort employees, ensuring quality, taste, and presentation standards are maintained.
• Execute recipes and menu items: Consistently preparing daily specials and seasonal offerings.
• Assist with inventory management: Monitoring food quality, freshness, portion control, and proper product rotation.
• Maintain cleanliness: Ensuring kitchen workstations, storage areas, coolers, and equipment are clean and organized.
• Operate kitchen equipment: Safely and efficiently operating kitchen equipment.
• Support employee meal service: Replenishing meals during meal periods and assisting with special events.
• Minimize food waste: Implementing practices to reduce waste through proper preparation, storage, and utilization.
• Communicate effectively: Reporting production needs and addressing operational concerns to culinary leadership.
• Train and mentor: Assisting less experienced culinary team members as needed.
• Comply with standards: Upholding Black Desert Resort’s culinary, safety, and service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of culinary or line cook experience preferred.
• Skills: Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations; knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and preparation techniques; ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment; strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; ServSafe Certification preferred or ability to obtain.
• Availability: Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
