About the Role
Combination of local and multiple-day routes with overnight shifts, including 9 pm dispatch times and 10–13-hour routes. New hires start on the extra board—a 4 or 5-day work week with Saturday night and one other night off. Routes change daily.

Pay
Pay structure includes component pay by mile, stop, and case.
Responsibilities
- Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report
- Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery
- Drive tractor-trailer to destination, adhering to commercial driving regulations and maneuvering on roads and customer premises
- Maintain driver log (Manual or PeopleNet) per DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures, and exceptions
- Unload trailer and deliver product into customer premises
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL-A)
- At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience
- Background of physical work history
- Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient for job-related tasks, safety protocols, and compliance with workplace standards
