Experienced Caregiver

About the Role

Visiting Angels of Bettendorf is hiring an Experienced Caregiver for clients throughout the Quad Cities area, including Eldridge, Pleasant Valley, Davenport, Walcott, Petersburg, Blue Grass, and many others. This role offers flexibility, room for growth, and the ability to make a difference in the lives of senior adults in your community.

Location: Quad Cities, IA and surrounding areas
Pay: $14.00–$16.00/hour

Responsibilities

• Helping clients handle personal care and hygiene
• Managing light housekeeping
• Encouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
• Prompting clients to take their prescription medications at the right times
• Helping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them)
• Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)
• Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the house, visiting the doctor, and taking walks
• Acting quickly in the case of medical emergencies, including adequately reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• Must have a valid Driver's License
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training/knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
