Experienced Caregiver
Avenues Home Care is seeking experienced caregivers in Thompson Station, TN. Pay ranges from $15.00 to $18.00 per hour based on experience.
About the Role
As an Experienced Caregiver, you will provide essential care to elderly, vulnerable, disabled, and dependent clients. Your primary focus will be meeting the client’s needs with the utmost care. Our Nashville office serves the local area, including Nashville, Belle Meade, Green Hills, Franklin, Goodlettsville, Hendersonville, Gallatin, Lebanon, Mount Juliet, Murfreesboro, Smyrna, Ashland City, Hermitage, and surrounding communities.
We use our CareMatch program to thoughtfully pair clients with caregivers, ensuring the best possible care through behavioral assessments and tailored matching.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as outlined in their care plan, including but not limited to:
- Bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Toileting, transferring, eating, and continence care
- Provide medication assistance, light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, feeding, shopping, and transportation to appointments
- Offer companionship and perform other household tasks as specified in the client’s plan of care
- Report daily activity to your supervisor via the agency management system, daily logs, or other communication methods (phone, email, agency app, or in-person)
- Practice safety in all client-related activities
- Lift or push up to 50 pounds as required
- Demonstrate honesty, accountability, and integrity in all interactions
- Provide superior care and remain vigilant for any changes in the client’s condition
- Maintain a professional appearance in compliance with company policies and dress code
- Report for shifts on time and communicate scheduling changes promptly
- Report suspected abuse or neglect immediately, following legal requirements
- Document unusual behaviors, events, conditions, or individuals
- Maintain confidentiality of all records and client information in compliance with HIPAA and company policies
- Attend meetings and in-service training as requested
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Proficiency with the Homecare Company Management System (ClearCare)
- Ability to maintain an established work schedule
- Effective interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills with attention to detail
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Must be "Fit for Duty" and possess:
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
- Minimum age of 18 years
- CNA License or prior caregiver experience (preferred)
- CPR and First Aid certifications (preferred)
- Reliable transportation
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience assisting with ADLs or caring for elderly, disabled, or vulnerable clients
Equipment Used
- Telephone, smartphone, or tablet
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided
Safety Expectations
- Work safely and follow all safety rules
- Report unsafe working conditions or behaviors immediately
Schedule
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- Shift options: 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 hours
- PRN and short shifts also offered
