About the Role

Receives, rotates, cuts, wraps, and merchandises fresh and processed meats, including grinds. Assists in merchandising of seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, pre-packed deli, and the rotisserie chicken area. Helps with meat selection and custom cuts for Members. Maintains all sanitation and safety standards within the meat department.

Responsibilities

• Engage and assist Members by making recommendations and answering questions about meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Prepare special cuts of meat as ordered by Members.
• Cut, grind, and process fresh meats to company standards.
• Weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood to company packaging standards.
• Ensure the meat case showcases all available products and maintains appropriate inventory levels.
• Stock and rotate meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
• Dispose of damaged and/or expired products following established guidelines.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department, including coolers, freezers, and refrigerated display cases.
• Inspect and store meat upon delivery to ensure quality standards are met.
• Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the meat cooler and freezer.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Deliver service excellence and resolve member concerns while maintaining a safe and positive environment.
• Uphold GOLD Member Standards: Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate (GAA) and maintain Fast, Friendly, Full, Fresh, Clean Club Standards.
• Understand and utilize production and financial performance reporting for your department.

Requirements

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.

Working Conditions

• Most of the time is spent moving about on hard surfaces, occasionally bending, handling, pulling, reaching, or stooping to examine or scan merchandise.
• Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds; may require lifting and moving heavy/awkward objects over 30 pounds with assistance.
• Work is primarily located in cooler areas with frequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises.
• Occasional exposure to cleaning agents.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $24.75 per hour. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available: $500 paid at 6 months and $500 paid at 1 year, with a 1-year clawback on each payment.
