About the role

A well-established, employee-focused engineering firm is seeking an Experienced Bridge Design Engineer to join its growing structural team. This is an opportunity to take a visible role in meaningful transportation projects that strengthen local communities—from municipal bridge work to projects completed alongside state transportation agencies and regional partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the analysis, planning, and design of bridge and transportation structure projects
  • Prepare bridge designs, construction plans, specifications, calculations, and technical reports
  • Cook up with public agencies, municipalities, counties, and internal civil engineering teams
  • Sustain projects through construction with field reviews, coordination, and problem-solving
  • Aid with project schedules, budgets, quality control, and overall project delivery
  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the structures practice
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance as the team grows

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis
  • 5+ years of U.S. bridge design experience
  • PE license preferred, or the ability to obtain licensure
  • Experience working with DOT standards, bridge design criteria, and public-sector projects
  • Strong technical knowledge with increasing responsibility in bridge project delivery
  • Able to manage priorities and deliver quality work on schedule and within budget
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach
