About the role

As an Experienced Body Shop Technician, you will repair or replace damaged body parts to restore vehicles to pre-accident condition, adhering to factory and dealership specifications. The goal is to achieve an invisible repair with quality that meets or exceeds the original factory fit and finish.

Responsibilities

  • Review each repair order, work order, and estimator’s notes to understand repairs needed prior to beginning work on the vehicle.
  • Complete all repairs according to the documentation on the repair order or supplement.
  • Apply knowledge of manufacturer’s and technical repair processes.
  • Use frame and measuring equipment per vendor procedures.
  • Perform initial teardown of the vehicle.
  • Identify parts for cut-in and edging.
  • Perform all repair procedures according to factory specifications and company policy (I-CAR Standard).
  • Perform and sign-off on all quality checks before sending the vehicle to the paint department.
  • Re-assemble painted vehicles and painted parts.
  • Conduct a final quality check and review of the work order prior to sending the vehicle to the detail department.
  • Mentor apprentice or lesser-skilled technicians to develop their repair skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Four years of body shop experience.
  • Current and valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set by the company’s insurance carrier.
  • Current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by the FMVS (preferred but not required).

Pay

Minimum pay rate: USD $24.00/hour
Maximum pay rate: USD $38.00/hour
