Experienced Baker - BID

About the Role

Our Baker is a key player in making sure our Bakery products look and taste amazing. In addition to providing unparalleled guest service, you'll craft delicious selections using the best ingredients. As a Team Member, you'll focus on building lifelong relationships with customers by understanding and exceeding their needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform bench work according to established scratch procedures.
• Prepare and form products to specifications using scratch recipes.
• Bake prepared product using appropriate time and temperature as specified by recipe.
• Properly insert products into proof box, set controls, and ensure proper size and shape.
• Prepare and fry donuts according to established procedures.
• Insert and retrieve products from the freezer to preserve freshness.
• Answer customer questions and resolve problems to meet guest requirements.
• Demonstrate suggestive selling techniques and provide active sampling when appropriate.
• Greet customers, assist them in locating products, and make suggestions.
• Maintain safety as the top priority for Team Members, guests, and products.
• Bake prepared and scratch products, rotating stock and following code dating procedures to ensure freshness.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tables, utensils, and floors to meet safety and sanitation regulations.
• Accurately record special orders to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain proper safety, sanitation, emergency procedures, and housekeeping standards.
• Understand all ingredients and their purpose in manufacturing scratch baked goods.
• Assist in unloading deliveries to maintain Bakery backroom, cooler, and freezer efficiency.
• Assemble necessary baking ingredients for baking operations, including scratch recipes.
• Assist in other areas as required.

Requirements

• Satisfactory completion of job-specific skills assessment.
• 6 to 12 months of experience or successful completion of the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship program.
• Prior experience in Bakery or a related industry (desired).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• At least 18 years of age.
